So I have compiled a lot of different mods and cfgs that help you increase your FPS by A LOT.

Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe. This is off the site gamebanana. UPDATE: Not all mods work in public servers even if you do the trick I showed you. I know for that demoman's mods. Mods for Team Fortress 2 can range heavily in filesize, from a few KB to a few hundered MB each. If you intend to mod just about everything, you should have a few GBs worth of storage left to be on the safe side.

This is really useful for people with really bad computers like me and for people who just really like to have high FPS for some reason.

If any of you are wondering, this improved my FPS by about 100. (I was getting about 10-20 before.)

  4. No Hats Mod (Ridiculous) - http://teamfortress.tv/thread/16179/no-hats-mod This one might upset a few. I might just be weird, but I really like the look of this mod.

  5. Low Particles Mod (Doesn't work on servers with sv_pure 2 enabled.) - http://www.mediafire.com/?m5w022h8gttidwb I really dig this mod because rockets don't have smoke trails.

  6. m0rehighfps - http://pastebin.com/fCZqv67D Older than Chris Max Frames and a bit less polished, but includes some things Chris didn't add to to his cfg.

  7. Rhapsody's Performance Config. -http://rhapsodysl.github.io/perfconfig/ An edit of Chris dx9frames with a LOT more customization. Also, there's this WiP mod that makes all of the weapon models look like there from straight out of TFC. The creator is actively working on it and should be out by the end of the year.

A long overdue and quite substantial update to my Everything Pack! Just about every single tweak I know of and/or use in TF2, plus all the tools I have that help with my FPS, game appearance, and more. Instructions are included in .txt files and images. Weapon-specific sensitivity/Viewmodel/FOV toggler

Crouch-jump script (all jumps instant crouch jumps, release space to uncrouch)

Basic class.cfg's for seperate sensitivities, interp, etc.

  • Invisible/out-of-the-way Dead Ringer mod (makes DR invisible except for meter or puts it off to the side on certain servers)

  • Diminished Explosions (smaller explosion blasts)

  • No Explosion Smoke (explosions won't have smoke)

  • Reduced Particle Medigun Beam (makes the medigun beam more 'subtle' and harder to see)

  • yrtrium's Competitive Viewmodels mod (Allows you to disable/enable individual viewmodels and works in MM. VERY useful for disabling weapon viewmodels for spy but not the watches. Requires install and preloading at game launch)

  • Some Essential Spy knowledge aids

    How Backstab Registration works (a video I made detailing how backstabs/failstabs/facestabs work)

    Must-see diagram of spy disguise hitboxes Shows where disguised class hitbox shows (wireframe) and where the spy's head really is relative to the disguise. You must see this if you want to headshot disguised spies.

  • Custom Closed Captions (Audio-to-text captions for TF2. Displays alerts for Ubers popped, Ubers 50% depleted, players severely hurt, and all kinds of things. I have a custom setting included that cuts out the fluff)

  • Large Green and Visible overheal crosses (More noticable overheal particles. Doesn't work in Casual or MM, but does in comp servers like TF2center.com or UGC)

  • Custom Crosshairs (Some custom crosshairs by Knucklez)

Tf2 hud mods

  • My custom HUD + Transparent Viewmodels: (A modified version of Flame's HUD Reborn maintained by my stream community members and friends, with Spy-centric tweaks and general improvements. Option for Transparent Viewmodels available.)

  • No-Hat Modification (No cosmetics for increased FPS)

  • Surfaceproperties.txt (gets rid of impact dust and other visual clutter. No FPS impact.)

  • Metal Footsteps (Makes all footsteps sound like they're on a metal surface)

Install

  • No Soundscapes Mod (get rid of ambient map noise)

  • LOD Tweak 'Quake-like textures' (Includes NVIDIA Inspector or RadeonPro for AMD, and instructions for this blocky textures mod)

  • Tools/Programs:

  • Simple Windows Optimization Walkthrough (List of simple Windows tweaks/optimizations to get the best performance when gaming. Guide in readme.txt and simple images)

  • Razer Cortex (FPS optimizer)

  • Razer Surround Sound (Excellent Surround Sound virtulization for headphone users)

  • Process Lasso (Automatically manage Core Affinities to counter TF2's bias towards Core0, among other features. Guide for use included in readme.txt)

  • SetTimerResolution A tiny DPC-Latency (how delayed sounds are) reducing app. Apparently improves USB Polling, too, for better mouse input.

  • NVIDIA Inspector GPU tweaker (advanced NVIDIA options, allows for blocky textures 'LOD Tweak'. 'Max Performance' and 'Max Quality' profiles provided)

  • MarkC mousefix for desktop Windows mouse acceleration (no impact on in-game if using m_rawinput 1 or RInput, which you should be)

  • Mouse-testing software (Assess various aspects of your mouse's performance)

  • SweetFX (modify game colors and appearance with various effects in really stunning ways. Good for improving visibility or just making your game look more pleasant. My TF2 preset included)

  • SourceGL (launches game using RInput, an alternative form of m_rawinput--very subtle difference, but I prefer it; also provides a 'Digital Vibrance' toggler to allow for different DV on the Desktop and pre-defined values for individual games)

  • Achievement Unlocker (allows for unlocking all achievements with a click, among other things. Use at your own risk, but I use it confidently)

Please back up everything before you install any of this.

Read the .cfg and .txt files, especially the README.txt's! This is necessary!

Most installation is in your 'tfcustom' or 'tfcustom[your HUD folder]' folder located in directory 'C:Program FIles (x86)SteamsteamappscommonTeam Fortress 2'

Before and after applying anything performance-related, record a short demo of normal gameplay by entering 'record benchmarkme' in the console. Then enter 'timedemo benchmarkme' to get a performance report of TF2's FPS. Results are logged in your 'tf' folder in the files 'Sourcebench.csv' which can be opened with Notepad. Don't eyeball it! These tweaks will only hurt if they don't improve your performance so please bother to check that they help YOU not just me.
