This will be a tutorial on how to get ReShader to work with your SWTOR. Just because a game is aged, doesn't mean it has to look like it! Using any setting will cost you around 20-30 frames with your game on ultra, but when you run 90 frames normally this isn't a big deal. There are many ways to help increase frames, such as turning shadows off, directx9 framework etc etc!

IMPORTANT: You can adjust effects live in game, without having to exit or restart ( SCROLL LOCK = Hide / Unhide the Effects )

Step 1 : Download ReShader Framework here http://reshade.me/#download

Step 2 : Extract the files anywhere except your SWTOR directory in your PC, make sure all files are in the same folder. For example, I made an 'SWTOR reshade' Folder on my desktop and put them there http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#J2OZBll

Step 3 : Run the Mediator and click 'Add'http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#XfVdxyF then find your swtor.exe Located here: http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#pyJViNA

Step 4 : Check to see that Direct3D 9 is filled in, if it's not: do so. http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#LAeEgzV

Step 5 : Use Pipeline to make all your effects simple to change, check the box of the effect you want then hit Apply at the top right and your game will take a second to load it http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#t52wLx0

Step 6 : After playing around with your various effects when you wish to tweak them, just use the tabs in red to change them how you want. For example say I wanted to adjust AMBIENT_LIGHT - GemFX, I would go to the GemFx tab and adjust it there - hit applies and you're done! http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#BrslUqH

That's all there is to it to get ReShader to work with SWTOR. 1.0 has made it very simple and easy!!! This next part you can ignore, it will be for people who wish both to Share their own presets, and load others.

Step 7 : When you wish to either Load or Share a preset you need these 7 files

  • BasicFX

  • Common

  • CustomFX

  • GemFX

  • McFX

  • Pipeline

  • SweetFX

Take these 7 files and copy them over the 7 files located here to load another's preset: http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#C6U4juy

Step 8 : If you wish to share your preset then after you adjust your settings in the Mediator Add and name the preset whatever you want, you will find it saved here: http://imgur.com/a/3s65i#i2ZWtgH

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for your PC going poof, or your SWTOR going on strike because you are a tyrant slave master who demands the very best without breaks. Just saying~

P.S I would love to see everyones presets they come up with, there are many effects you can play with and some of them are quite crazy; will be fun to see what you can come up with! http://imgur.com/cBhqsP2,i3q5Wi6,VGLNQNf

Update: You will know it's working if you see this at the top left of your screen upon launch / changing settings http://i.imgur.com/PRgtAUH.jpg

Well if you got it working in a way you are happy with then I guess it is all good :)
I do admit you have me hopelessly confused at this point though. As I said 283 was the first binary and it has no effects. So no idea what you mean with using note pad to edit the effects instead of the GUI - the reason there are no effects to edit tin the ENB GUI for 283 is because there are none. Consequently there is nothing to edit in Notepad either - outside of enblocal.ini which is a different thing entirely. Heck binary 283 doesn't even have an enbseries.ini file or any shaders at all. It is literally just the two DLL files and the enblocal.ini (pluse a readme and license text file).
So the comment about editing in notepad makes no sense to me - unless you are talking about editing the ReShade files? In that case that has nothing to do with the ENB version. ReShade is its own system and those effects you do have to edit with note pad (or any text editor). Newer versions of ReShade you can edit in-game with a GUI but not the early ones. Only my Pack and Railroad presets have a newer ReShade version they work with. ASD has to be used with the old ReShade or it won't look right.
On the texture issue - I have a different experience but it could be related to having a good PC with a lot of memory. Anytime I enable enbboost for FO4 all my textures go to pure crap. They all load the super low res ones.
I tried a few times as now and then I have issues with textures loading - it is a common problem with FO4 for many users and google shows all kinds of answers. One of those is to use Enbboost to fix things. But that only helps some folks - for others, like myself, it makes the problem 10 times worse.
I fixed my issue with INI tweaks and adjusting the mipmap settings, along with some other tweaks and a balance of loose versus archived texture packs.
Lastly if you are running ASD and are saying binary 283 looks exactly the same as using binary 385 then you either did not install things correctly, disabled all the effects for some reason, or ENB is not actually working correctly for you. As they look different as using binary 283 is like using no binary at all as it does nothing for visuals in any way what so ever. You might as well just use the BOS preset which doesn't require ENB. ASD, however, uses a variety of effects from the shaders and makes a very clear difference.
As I said very confused and I think you don't have things running properly if you can't see a difference using 385 over 283.
